The flowers have a strong reddish-pink color with a large bright yellow center. The back of the petal has a moderate red band. Petals are narrow and elliptical with pointed tips - slightly overlapping. Flower head is approximately 3 inches diameter, strong sweet fragrance. Nice thick cuttings from this variety.

Named for "Doctor" ("Kauka") Gerrit Wilder, 1863-1935, a horticulturalist who published several books on plants of the Pacific and who specialized in hibiscus. Blooms readily here in central Connecticut! Scent similar to coconut.
